202 is not easy to use
IT'S ALL ABOUT K.D.S
life = work
work = rush
rush = no great outcome
no great outcome = suck

talked about scanner on the nam sun wai trip with a few people
yup the home-use scanner arent very good
take a look (click to enlarge)
1. scanned by YMT store
3. scanned by my 8600
2. no.3 -> after photoshop following color tone of no.1
it is almost a must to photoshop it for the contrast and a bit on the color tone
else e2c picture will look like normal negative, as the scanner will help you to color-balance it...
after photoshop the contrast / color tone can be close to the store ones
(yet it is so hard to look the same as the bright/dark area will go too extreme... =.=)
but still, many details at the darker / lighter part are lost...
I use it just to save $ XP

I think it is a common "bug" to Lca that you cant go forward nor launch the shutter
basically the cam is locked...
I had the same problem today and I've found the fix
open up the upper shell
on the frame counter side, do the fix below...
close the upper shell with a screwer pushing the copper stripe + carefully
then the cam wil work normallly again
hope it helps la

got the broken 8M from a friend today... looks like it is some easy stuff...
this later version of 8M is using some easy-breaking material
when u drop it, the delicate parts will break easily
(shiny black 8M)
when I open it, except that, that's something more...
first let's save the brokend part, easy easy
then re-arrange the springs
the iron part is totally bent... it is not easy to save...
you must have used 1 tonne force over the button ><
tried hard to bend the iron part to reform its original shape
it works basically, finally, but still with some un-recoverable thing
which is, when u press the button anytime, you can go forward (even not taking a pic yet). possibly due to the part's deformation.... so this 8M is 90% healthy ... @_@
it's the 3rd time I got a 8M with seriously bent metal part...
a suggestion to everyone facing difficulties on such old old cams... dont push anything forcibly... the dislocated parts will not go back to normal... big force will just make the situation worse...
