What is E2C
E2C is a Cross Process of slide film - to make the color/contrast/saturation go wild.
to understand what it is, we have to know more on films.
films are actually plastic stripes with photo-sensitive chemicals on .
When film is exposed to light, it carry out chemical change,
due to the intensity/duration of the exposure.
After exposed to the light, we soak the film to certain chemical solution
to terminate further chemical reaction (to fix the color)
Normally
for Negative films - we use C41 solution
for Positive films - we use E6 solution (postive film also called slide films)
for Cross Process
we cross the solution to use
for Negative films - we use E6 solution (switched from C to E process)
for Positive films - we use C41 solution (switched from E to C process)
cross process actually damage the chemicals on the film
so the color / contrast / saturation always go crazy
here's some conclusions i made personally on different brands / models of films on E2C
KODAK
Kodak e100vs - wide range of color - nice saturation - contrast is boost + not much color tint
Kodak Elite Chrome 100 (EB100) - not really tinted with normal sun - yellowish / green at night - nice boost of saturation n color
AGFA
Agfa CT100 - slightly blue tinted - nice saturation n contrast
FUJI
Fuji Velvia 100 - (minhui's hint - use it as ISO50) pinkish tint - saturation is good
Fuji Provia 100 - blue / green tinted under sun... green / yellow tint indoor or at night - nice contrast too
Fuji Sensia 100 - red tinted - contrast is somehow quite crazy
these are my personal experience, try it on n tell me if they're true :)
