KDS-POTO2 how to 大公開

first of all, I keep drawing lots of drafts wether or not i can actually make it
just do the design and technical problem will be solved (if lucky enough)

1. DESIGN

======================================================

initialDraft1
initial design 1 - as I've did KDS-POTO1 before, I sort of understand the basic design of it,
but when i am designing KDS-POTO2, i have a sense of... wait, i can do a changable back...
so on this draft I started to draw a front shell with knobs + adaptor and back is the core but separtate thing

initialDraft2
initial design 2 - a more refined drawing

135back
135 back's design

120back
120's back design

antiRollBackGear
anti roll back gearwork - stop film from loosing or rolling back

lensAdaptor
lens adaptor - so that pinhole lens / waiwai lens can be utilized

shellLock
shell locker - to hold the back in place after loading film

2.Testing
======================================================
as I've stick up KDS-POTO1 before, for the shutter plate, film distance from the lens are understood alread - so no more testing of focusing problem by semi-transparaent paper...

instead I've did some testing on gearwork with spring

and put it practically,

3.AI file design

======================================================
this is a long long part to do up the design in an AI file
have to consider the thickness, have to be very precise on any part
and as I am using a "sanded 磨沙" acrylic board... orientation of the design matters !
(else some shiny faces will have to show up on the outer shell - shich looks really bad if so !!!)

here's the laser-cut acrylic board with my AI file
DSCN1174

4.Sticking it up !
======================================================

DSCN1225
to stick up acrylic board, 化膠水 is to be used

DSCN1240
and it will crystallize

DSCN1229
many other tools

a. the film frame counter module
DSCN1200
the basic framework which film can pass through

DSCN1204
with the 8-legged gear - it rotate once = 8 holes passes = 1 frame of film passes !
thx my friend "iamwen" to enlighten me on this gear XD

DSCN1205
with the top part stuck (there's a triangle mark there for you to see if 1 rotation has been made)

b. the anti-roll-back gearwork
DSCN1209

spring with the leg

DSCN1214
the gearwork take-up spool

DSCN1211
when they combined - (just work as the video above)

c. the shell
DSCN1217
shell with lens adaptor

DSCN1227
behind it there's a holga shutter plate

d. waiwai lens
DSCN1231
remove the lens module from waiwai - including the lens holder

DSCN1232
cut up the edges

DSCN1234
put it with the adpative rings - with the hood stuck to it, it will be done

e. pinhole "lens"
DSCN1260
get a piece of plastic

DSCN1261
sand it till the center part is very thin

DSCN1262
pin a hole for it

DSCN1263
stick it to the lens ~ done !!!

5.Putting everything together
======================================================

DSCN1238
put a film roll for testing

DSCN1247
here's KDS-POTO2 with waiwai lens :D

great works dude! is damn nice... i like your work as always! congratulation on your success! one question to ask.. did the frame overlap each other because the gear is 8 hole..

yo wen
the counter thing is accurate
as the 8 legs passed = just enough for 1 frame + 1 gap !

does it work?
